The New Abortion Law in New York State
E. Ablorh-Odjidja
January 26, 2019

New York is a very deep, Democrat blue state; a place that is home, undoubtedly, for vast collection of people from the Black world.

It is also home for our renown Rev. Al Sharpton, the accepted leader of most Black liberals.

New York state this past Tuesday passed a bill, which allows late-term abortions, up to nine months, to be legal.

And the convenient excuse is when a woman’s health is endangered.

To date, no one has heard from our esteemed Black preacher Al Sharpton about this new law. Or how it may obscure the intent of the racists, whom he denounces daily.

The possibility of genocide on Blacks in this bill may be obscure, but the intent of Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood, has come to life with the bill.

It is now legal to kill another life.

Nine months used to be the mark when a fully formed human being was ready to enter the world via the birth canal. No more. It could be a point of entry as a scrape into the medical waste can.

Now, who will be human after nine months of gestation?

Margaret Sanger had a plan to save American civilization. She said the plan would prevent the “unfit” from procreation. Americans of African origin were part of the "unfit." She thereafter went on to help found Planned Parenthood, with some religious members from Black churches of the era.

And, justifiably so, implies Governor Cuomo of New York State some eight decades later at the signing of the bill.

Cuomo, a liberal democrat and a Catholic couldn’t give a fig.

This same Governor Cuomo opposes President Trump, with sanctimonious glee and moral contempt rolled into one. He is one among the many liberal whites who constantly and shrilly call Trump, another white, a racist.

Governor Cuomo supports Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood, which opposes all things Trump, heavily participated in the protest of his inauguration and went on to make a major impact in the opposition against the nomination of the now Supreme Court Justice, Brett Kavanaugh.

Justice Kavanaugh was seen by liberals as a threat to Roe V. Wade (1973), a Supreme Court decision which granted women’s right to choose abortion.

Well, it was a woman’s right to choose, not a man’s, as Planned Parenthood proclaims\ed.

Men were only here to provide pleasure and foot the bill. But, regardless of what the merit of the Planned Parenthood proposition, a woman’s right to choose should not be used as a tool of genocide for the Black race.

Or allow a Black woman, who happens to live in the bluest of the blue state of America, NY, to abort a potential Black human being like a bloody mass that latched on to her womb.

It has been noted that “More than 19 million Black babies have been aborted since the 1973 Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision legalized abortion in our country.”

Black population rate today stands at 38 929 319 million, and form 12.61% of the population. However, Black abortion is at a rate of 4 times that of whites.

According to CDC report, "while Black women make up only six percent of the U.S. population, they account for 35 percent of abortions reported.”

Again, who will be human after this New York State law?

Jesse Jackson, a Black democrat leader, wrote in 1977 that, “What happens to the mind of a person, and the moral fabric of a nation, that accepts the aborting of the life of a baby without a pang of conscience? What kind of a person, and what kind of a society will we have 20 years hence if life can be taken so casually?”

Unfortunately, Jesse Jackson has been silent on the issue of aborted babies, ever since he wrote his opinion piece.

And needless to point out to him that Blacks, who were the major minority group at the time of Roe V. Wade, have since been overtaken by Hispanics, who about that same period in history number about 8,920,940, as opposed to 22,539,362 for Blacks.

Zoe Dutton, writing for The Atlantic in 2014, noted in an article titled “Abortion's Racial Gap,” the disparity of abortion in a racially diverse society as the United States.

She asked “Even as the U.S. abortion rate is at its lowest since Roe v. Wade, women of color are five times as likely to terminate a pregnancy as their white counterparts. Why?”

All kinds of responses have since come from scholars to explain the disparity. But, one fact stuck out in her article.

Even when a controlling factor for income was used in the abortion stats, Blacks still came higher at every point of the scale.

She cited in her article comment by a Christine Dehlendorf, a professor of family and community medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This citation brings us closer to the truth as reflected in the abortion related statistics of today.

“There are a multitude of reasons, and we don’t fully understand what’s going on,” Dehlendorf said. “But ultimately I think it’s about structural determinants— economic reasons, issues related to racism, differences in opportunities, differences in social and historical context.”

Some of us do understand the causes for these structural determinants, so we do not attribute the ill-effects of them to one political category.

We never say Republicans are racists. But we see the exogenous racism of the general society.

Liberal policies developed to help Blacks cannot be excluded from this class.

So-called good policies do often have unintended consequences - most of them. And they have helped to form parts of the negative structural determinants over the years.

We have welcomed sugar-coated pill policies in many forms; including the welfare state advanced by liberals.

Failure among Blacks to understand fully this fact is as much to blame as the exogenous racism inherent in the general society itself.

And now, the illustrative point has been reached. Productive lives and breathtaking Black talents will be wasted under this new law.

The numbers in New York state will not be obvious as abortion statistics in-state are not reported to the Federal government.

Ask why, and the answer could be anybody’s guess.

All the same, welcome to the brave new world of New York state.
