Families of Agbogbloshie victims call for justice
By Awudu Salami Sule

The bereaved families of the three victims who were cruelly massacred at Agbogbooshie, a suburb of Accra on Tuesday August 25th has called on the government to ensure that Justice prevails.

The victms, Alhassan Fuseini, M. Suala and J.Y Sule had since been buried but the police are yet to arrest the killers.

In an interview with Ghanadot, Alhaji Aliu Alidu, father of one of the victims said, for him to have confidence in the government, the alleged killers must be brought to book.

He revealed, after the December 2008 run-off elections when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the Presidential elections, some supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress at Agbogbloshie clashed and many innocent people were wounded. "But nobody was arrested by the police" he noted.

He said the failure by the police to arrest perpertrators of the first incident encouraged the tuesday August 25 massacre.

"The culture of impunity rearing its head in this country does not augur well for our young democracy and it is high time it comes an end", he advised.

In order to promote peace in the area and among the feuding factions, Alhaji Alidu has called on the government to as a matter of urgency find the killers of the Agbogbloshie incident and put them before court for trial.
