Woman 26 remanded for murdering
husband
Apam (C/R), March 24, GNA - Deborah Saakwa, 26 year-old
seamstress has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly
murdering her husband, Napoleon Bentum a 44 year-old seaman.
Mr Charles Wiafe, presiding at an Apam Magistrate Court
remanded the accused to reappear before the court on April
16 2007.
According to the prosecution, Bentum, alias Kwesi Attah and
Deborah also known as Maame Attah both hailed from Gomoa
Abrekum near Apam and had been married for six years.
On March 15 this year, the accused asked permission from the
deceased to attend a funeral at a village near Agona Nyakrom
but the husband refused.
However the woman insisted on going and this resulted in a
misunderstanding between the two during which the accused
stabbed the husband in the groin with a kitchen knife.
Bentum bled profusely and died when he was being conveyed to
the Apam Hospital where the body has been deposited for
autopsy.
