We share equal settlements - DCE tells rural residents

Adense-Yaw Boadi (Ash), Nov. 28, GNA- Mr Kwaku Obeng Boateng, Ahafo-Ano South District Chief Executive, on Tuesday said the provision and availability of affordable social amenities would help enhance the living standards of people living in the rural areas.

He said access to education, health and other facilities made urban areas valuable and different from rural or deprived areas and that equality would prevail when these facilities existed in villages for the people to enjoy.

Mr Boateng was addressing the chiefs and people of Adense-Yaw Boadi near Adugyama in the Ahafo-Ano South district during the commissioning of a three-unit classroom block for the community's primary school valued at 290 million cedis.

The district assembly supported the project with its share of the common fund.

Mr Boateng said what was needed was for the people to unite and contribute their quota to improve upon their living standards.
He urged the parents to take keen interest in their children's education since it was the only legacy they can bequeath to them.
He called for honesty, transparency and accountability in the use of the capitation grant by stakeholders to achieve the government's desired results.

The DCE appealed to the people to register with the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme to enable them assess affordable health care.

Mr Kwabena Peprah, assemblyman for the area commended the district assembly for the mass spaying exercise and appealed for the reconstruction of a six-kilometre feeder road from Yaw-Boadi to Biemso Number One, which is in a deplorable state.

Mr Appiah Adu Konadu, headteacher of the school, said the school block had come at a time when enrolment had increased from 90 to 125 this year.
