President Kufuor receives special message from Chadian leader

Accra, Dec. 4, GNA - An Envoy of Chadian President Idris Derby, on Monday called on President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu, to deliver a special message.

The content was not disclosed but it is believed to centre on the worsening security situation in that country.

Chad in recent times has come under increasing rebel attacks, which the Government blames on Sudan.

Dr Nourradine Delwa Kassire Coumakoye, the Envoy, who is the Chadian Minister of State for Territorial Affairs, Town Planning and Housing, said in opening remarks before going into closed-door meeting with President Kufuor that, he was at the Castle to give the President first hand information about the dire security situation his country faced.

Africa, he said, must stand in solidarity with Chad.

President Kufuor said he had been closely following the developments in Chad and the entire neighbourhood and was eager to listen to the Envoy.
