Joe Michel is Gone
Joseph Ala Lomo
The death of
Michel Okoe Lomo of La was announced
by Adjei Gbeke We of La on
February 3rd 2007.
Michel also known
as "Joe Michel " attended Tenashie 5 middle
school and St Aquinas Secondary School. He
played soccer for Academicals,
Auroras, Hearts of Oak, Akotex, Black
Meteors and Ghana Black Stars. |

It is significant to
mention here that Michel played the left full
back position for Hearts of Oak during their
epic 2-2 draw with legendary Pele's Santos club
of Brazil in Accra ,Ghana.
"Joe Michel" played
with some of the great yesteryear's players like
Joe Dakota, Osei Kofi,
Sam Amarteifio,
John Eshun, Abdul Razak, Yaw Sam Yaw
Mark, Asumadu Isaac
Eshun, Polo Mohammed, Ago Nai, |

He was coached by great coaches like Marotzke,
Olando,
Dumittru, Adabie, Addo Odametey,
Dogo Moro, Ben Kwofie,
Aggrey Fynn and C.K. Gyamfi. |

He
rubbed shoulders with some of the great soccer
players like Pele of Brazil in their epic Hearts
vrs Santos 2-2 draw, Osei Kofi of Kumasi Asante
Kotoko, Mohammed Polo of Accra Hearts of Oak,
Kwasi Owusu of BA United and etc.
Michel worked for almost 40
years with Akosombo Textile Limited. He trained
as soccer coach Akotex in Tirol, Austria and was
on Ghana's Olympic soccer squad to Montreal
Canada. He was indeed a national
treasure.

Regine Ayorkor Kukpen, Ajeley Lomo, Ajorkor Lomo, Evelyn
Tawiah Lomo, and Rev. Frederick Anang Lomo.
Michel Yaawo Ogbogban, Rest in peace.
