Being a Christian does not mean
being brain disengaged

A spiritual pastor in Adenta, a suburb of Accra, is in the
hands of the police. This follows accusations that the
so-called man of God is fond of fondling the private parts
of his lady followers.
“What he does is that when the victims went for healing, he
stripped them naked and covered their faces and asked them
to sleep on a mat that he had spread in his consultation
room. Then he will ask them to open their thighs, pour some
concoction into their private parts and stir with his
hands,” Superintendent of police, Stephen Ahiatafor has
disclosed.
According to him, the said pastor whose name he will not
disclose will ask victims to open their eyes after he brings
out mysterious items he purports to have removed from their
private parts.
He then attributes the childlessness of his victims to those
mysterious items.
The spiritual pastor, police say has been practicing for 15
years.
The police superintendent has asked female victims of the
church who have fallen prey to the wanton abuse by this
pastor to assist with investigations.
This report comes barely a week after another Teshie based
pastor was found guilty for ‘cleansing’ the private parts of
his lady followers.
He was fined by the La Magistrate Court to pay an amount of
GH¢ 600.00.
However, the General Secretary of the Christian Council of
Ghana, Rev. Fred Deegbe has described as “unacceptable and
regrettable,” reports about some pastors indecently fondling
their female flock.
He told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show that it was unfortunate
that people posing as pastors were taking undue advantage of
vulnerable and gullible members of the society.
Rev. Deegbe’s remarks come in the wake of several reports
about indecent behavior by some pastors.
Describing some of pastors as charlatans, Rev. Deegbe said
God does not solve people’s problems by violating their
privacy.
He cautioned Christians against submitting themselves to
such violation in the name of religion because “being a
Christian does not mean your brain should be disengaged.”
“God has no grandchildren, what that means is that everyone
can pray to God and God can answer your prayer. Sure you do
need people who can stand alongside you and pray with but
don’t let people take advantage of you and do things that do
not even make sense to you, ” he added.
