Ecobank Golf tees of on January 20

Accra, Jan. 15, GNA - This year's Ecobank Ghana Limited Open Golf Championship will tee off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, January 20.


Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Oteng, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said the One-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which is open to amateur and professional golfers from Tema, Achimota, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs, is expected to attract over 150 golfers.


He said the competition, which is the first major event of the year, would be played under the rules of the Royal Ancient Club of Scotland and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club.


Some of the golfers who had registered for the competition, include Charles Tabi, John Sam, Nick Smallman, John Atta Nyamekye, Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Mike Ezan and Michael Ben-George, all of the Achimota Golf Club.


The lady golfers who have so far registered include Mona Captan, Florence Antwi-Barimah, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong and Clara Price.


Mr E. P. L. Gyampoh, Board Chairman of Ecobank is expected to grace the occasion.


The Bank would later in the year also sponsor the J. S. Addo Seniors Open.
