Embracing the Bell Curve, with a Voter ID suppression claim

It was
not long ago when the entire Black world went berserk because of
the work of one psychologist, Charles Murray.
Murray
wrote “The Bell Curve” in 1994, which raised some hackles about
race relationships in our communities.
Surprisingly, that insult in the “bell curve” is here now,
restated in full force in the search for political power.
“The Bell
Curve,” wrote Eric Siegel in 2017 for the Scientific American,
“endorses prejudice by what it does not say.” But the voter
suppression charge by Democrats in 2021 daringly states what was
muted.
And for
this reason, the alleged charge must raise a concern for the
Black community; not only because it is openly stated, but
especially because it questions loudly Black political maturity.
Siegel
went on to state, “Nowhere does the book address why it
investigates racial differences in IQ.
"By
never spelling out a reason for reporting on these differences
in the first place, the authors transmit an unspoken yet
unequivocal conclusion:
"Race is a helpful indicator as to
whether a person is likely to hold certain capabilities. ...The
net effect is to tacitly condone the prejudgment of individuals
based on race.”
The reason for voter identity nullification today, boldly states
the "net effect" of a "prejudgment
of individuals based on race". It brings with it the
same prejudices of “The Bell Curve.” But
surpasses it with its obvious “unspoken yet unequivocal conclusion.”
This is racism on steroids. But, of course, racism has become the beast of burden for the liberal white
political ambition; however, some willing Blacks go along with
their ambition.
We were
mad at Murray. Shouldn’t we also by the aspersion embedded
in the reasoning behind the voter identification nullification
quest?
But this
insult continues. The Black vote is being suppressed
because voter identification is required. And the request
can only be the work of the racists. For this reason, the
identification requirement has to be nullified to make the
system democratic, Democrats say.
Racism at
the polls in America is historically not hard to point out.
But to cite this as the reason for voter identification
nullification is a remarkable artifice. Unlike the Black
Code laws in the South, the request for identity is meant for
all citizens, not only Blacks.
The Black
Codes, “enacted in 1865 and 1866, were designed to replace the
social controls of slavery that had been removed by the
Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment to the
Constitution,” wrote Encyclopedia Britannica.
“The
Reconstruction Act of 1867 weakened the effect of the black
codes by requiring all states to uphold equal protection under
the 14th
Amendment, particularly by enabling black men to vote,”
according to National Geographic magazine.
The voter identification laws of today do not oppose the 14th
Amendment. The Black man is empowered by it to vote.
But
today, he has his political maturity being questioned.
Voter identification nullification has the same rationale about
the mental acuity of the Black man in the same manner as what
“The Bell Curve” said about his capabilities in 1994.
Sadly,
the Black man ought to be able to vote only by being called
stupid first, the nullification implies.
But other
groups have acquired the wherewithal to vote and to exercise
their political franchise with voter identification since the
14th Amendment. Blacks ought to do so without the cry of
racism.
This
charge of racism particularly assumes that there is this idyllic
state in our DNA code that puts the Black man's intelligence at
a lower level than all races caught in the same political
process.
The voter
identification card, available to all, we are told, is beyond
the acquisition skills of the Black man. And this
supposed deficiency must force the change on how the vote must
be counted and for history to mark as the Black man’s
contribution to democracy in America!
No voter
identification required, because….?
Without
waiting for “The Bell Curve” to state it, I will suggest that no
other race or group would want this brand of obliviousness put
on itself. Reasons of pride and shame would have fought
back against this idea.
But here
we are. Our leaders have already embraced the branding.
They are
asserting boldly what “The Bell Curve” merely implied.
That we,
unlike the others, are too dumb to acquire voter identification
and to engage fully in the processes that the 14th
amendment grants us. So, we come up suddenly short when
simple voter identification is required. And just as
sudden, democracy comes under attack!
One Sam
Levin writes, “There may be no politician better suited for a
moment when democracy is under attack than Stacey Abrams.
“A decade
ago, when few saw any chance of Georgia becoming a Democratic
state, Abrams pushed to invest in turning out Black, Latino and
Asian American voters, who had long been overlooked by
politicians campaigning in the state.”
It is
clear Levin is a Democrat. He is happy about the cluster
of races brought over to the Democrat side in Georgia by Stacey.
Levin is not Black, but don’t mention his race. Or argue
that it is a canard to state that Asian American and Latino
voters don’t lack voter identification cards.
These
groups do not have voter registration problems. To date,
the Latino, through political activism, has the best of the
Civil Rights gains. And now, he is the super-minority race in
America.
Hispanics
are already voting for the party that gives them the most.
And Asian
Americans are so up on the academic scale. So up that Ivy
League Colleges like Harvard, in the name of equity, are
suppressing their admissions into academia.
Why Stacy
Abraham, a Black Democrat and of a party with the utmost Black
votes, is the champion for the nullification drive in the
overall electoral system is not a mystery. It is all about
power, not race.
Of
course, she wants the polls open for the abuses that normally go
to benefit Democrats.
The
same ID that permits everyone to drive on our roadways, use
airlines and collect government-issued material as well as
welfare checks, must vanish at the polling stations only because
the Blackman shows up.
In
Georgia, Stacey's state, the lack of proper identification
brought out surprising victories for Democrats in the 2020
elections. The results continue to raise
doubts about voter integrity.
In the
process, the Black man is being scarred. But this is how
much we have allowed the charge of racism to do for us only for
others in the system to benefit hugely through its potent,
political charge.
Some,
despite their whiteness, have benefitted. Shouting the
charge is useful mostly to cover or hide their white privileges
and supremacy, especially so in the face of the “woke awareness”
parade.
But does
anyone for a second think that when the polls are thrown open,
with no identification required, the result will benefit Blacks?
However,
such is the force of the lie. Blacks are always the
excuse, like the string that holds a bottle on a desert march,
but the beverage inside is reserved especially to quench the
thirst of others.
In every
sense, racism as the excuse for voter identification
nullification is as harmful as the assumption “The Bell Curve”
makes. Being told you are not able to acquire and use
properly a voter identification card because of your race is
capital abuse.
Stacey
Abraham, in her desire to enhance her power - to become the
governor of Georgia - is glad to use the abuse.
I will
gladly vote for Stacy on the merit of the issues, but not at the
price of a concept that abuses my intelligence. I can and have
obtained already on my own a voter identification card as a
Blackman in America.
