STATEMENT BY PATRIOTIC YOUTH OF AWUTU SENYA WEST

RE: ENOUGH OF YOUR DESPICABLE ATTITUDE TOWARDS YOUR FELLOW HUMANS, HON HANNAH S. TETTEH

We the representatives of the Patriotic Youth Of Awutu Senya West, are compelled by Hon. Hannah Tetteh’s despicable attitude towards her fellow citizens to tell her in plain words to give us a break.

We have experienced a lot of Hannah Tetteh’s unsavoury remarks about other people and we are now convinced it is about time all Ghanaians join us to tell her to respect her fellow citizens.

What would have propelled novices, as Hon. Hannah Tetteh would address us, underdogs, in fact, people who are at the bottom of the social ladder, in whose tombs, Hon. Tetteh’s political power resides to spit out this bitter truth? This is a question that any rational person may ask.

What promoted us to air our frustration was sparked by a news bulletin appearing on peacefmonline.com, in which Hon H S Tetteh totally disrespected and disregarded Nenyi George Andah without any provocation. On seeing the title of the news bulletin, - “Who is George Andah? I Don’t See Him As A Threat – Hannah Tetteh,” we presumed it was one of those catchy captions often used by journalists to entice readers, however that was not the case. In her typical fashion, Hon. Tetteh found it moral to run down Mr. Andah with contempt.

In an interview with journalists, Hon Tetteh opined that Mr. Andah is not a threat. Quoting the statement from peacefmonline.com, Hon. Tetteh's responded perhaps to a question a journalist asked referencing her campaigning against Mr. Andah as; “You are talking as if he is some political heavyweight. … This is someone who has not contested elections before and I am supposed to be afraid of him?” She continued, “I am the Foreign Affairs Minister, I have been Minister of Trade and Industry, … and I am supposed to be afraid of someone who is even if you want to be charitable a, novice.”

Upon completion of the article, where Hon Tetteh displayed such haughtiness, we thought - as the Honourable Member of Parliament, representing a rural constituency with majority of her constituents nowhere near the accomplishments of either hersrelf or Mr. Andah, whom she claims it will even be an understatement to call him a novice.

We would like to ask our Honourable MP and Minister, a number of questions.

1. If Mr.Andah by her standard is a nobody and a novice, what and how does she regard the majority of her constituents who placed her in the position she so readily boasts about?

2. Has she so soon forgotten when in the period leading up to her 2000 election, it was President Rawlings, Nana Konadu and Lt Osardu who literally held her hand and brought her into Awutu Senya to convince our parents to vote for her?

3. Why has she fallen out with all those who believed in her and pushed her into the limelight? Why have those who championed her; Fmr. President Rawlings, Mrs. Nana Konadu Rawlings, and Lt Osardu often publicly referred to her as a most arrogant person?

If we should not be afraid of the truth, we the good people of Awutu – Senya West who voted for her are worse off than neophytes. Perhaps this explains why we elected her to represent us.

What makes Ms. Tetteh believe she is more experienced in the Ghanaian political landscape than Nenyi George Andah, whom she arrogantly refers to as a novice? Is it because she believes she has positively affected the lives of the people in the Awutu Senya West constituency? The answer is a Big No.

Is it because as a representative of the constituency, she has represented her constituents so well and has become conversant with the real needs of her constituents, and is indeed doing something to help improve their livelihoods? We leave these questions to be answered by our fellow constituents.

What makes Hon. Tetteh who is on record to be one of the highest absentee Parliamentarians, believe she is an experienced and responsible politician? We wish to remind her that this time round, we the electorates of Awutu Senya West have 'opened our eyes' and her strategy of using last minute projects and splashing money around to buy votes will not work. If she brings the money around we will take it and "chop" but we know that a vote for change means the betterment of all citizens in Awutu Senya West.

We are promising her that we shall not vote for late roads, markets, hostels, etc in 2016. We shall not vote for late water. We shall not vote for late free text books. In fact, we shall not vote for a representative who will only support few of her party members after capturing political power.

We have come to know Nenyi George Andah from Ms. Tetteh’s view point, but who really is George Andah?

From the facts available, George Andah is an accomplished personality in the corporate world who will not do things the Hannah Tetteh way on becoming the Member of Parliament in 2017. He has demonstrated that he is a unifier and will not only support and work with NPP members. We believe He will rather create an equal platform for all his constituents and the nation as a whole where possible.

We shall vote for Nenyi George Andah because we believe he can replicate and even more so in the political world, what he accomplished in the corporate world. We believe he will leverage on the success of the NPP under Fmr President Kufuor and he will be a valuable asset to the work of our Parliamentarians, and most importantly to us, the constituents of Awutu Senya West. We shall support George Andah because upon becoming our representative, he will not look back on us and treat us with disrespect. He will rather acknowledge the responsibilities and trust placed in him and work with us to better Awutu.

In summary, we want to suggest to Ms. Tetteh to concentrate on her responsibilities as a Member of Parliament and a Cabinet Minister, run an issue based campaign and desist from comments that are not worthy of emulation.
