PRESIDENT MAHAMA MUST CONSULT
STAKEHOLDERS IN SELECTING EC BOSS – KWABENA
AGYEI AGYEPONG
The General-Secretary of the NPP, Mr.
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has made a strong
call to the President of the Republic to
undertake widespread and thorough
consultation before appointing the Chairman
of the Electoral Commission.
The Chief Scribe of the largest opposition
party insisted that the Electoral Commission
has suffered major setbacks arising from
embarrassing revelations during the Election
Petition at the Supreme Court and the recent
ruling of the Supreme Court which culminated
in the cancellation of the District Assembly
elections occasioning colossal losses to the
exchequer. He stressed that, it was
important for the Electoral Commission to
win back the confidence of the Ghanaian
people.
To achieve this goal, Mr Kwabena Agyepong
posited that the President should through
his Council of State engage all major
stakeholders in a constructive manner in
order to appoint a new chairman for the EC
who will inspire the revival of public
confidence in the commission.

sermons seek to impact on governance.
