RECONSTITUTION OF
THE NATIONAL YOUTH AUTHORITY BOARD
The attention of the YOUTH ECONOMIC
DIALOGUE, Ghana, has been drawn to the fact
that the Governing Board of the Nation Youth
Authority has not been reconstituted after
the expiration of the mandate of the
previous Board in January 2013. According to
the National Youth Authority Act (241)1974 (NCDR),
"The Chairman, deputy Chairman, and other
trustees other than the national coordinator
shall be appointed in accordance with
article 70 of the constitution"
and for which
their tenure shall be coterminous with that
of the President.
As a group interested in the pursuit of the
aspirations of the Ghanaian youth, we wish
to draw His Excellency the President’s
attention to this obvious anomaly. The long
delay in reconstituting the Governing Board
of the National Youth Authority is impeding
the smooth operation of the authority. A
case in point is the failure for the
implementation of the National Youth policy
which was to kick off in 2014 and was
scheduled to be completed in 2017. The NYA
is yet to set up the Implementation
Committee as outlined in the National Youth
policy for the implementation of the various
tasks and strategic interventions to support
attainment of the aspirations and dreams of
the Ghanaian youth.
In conclusion, we wish to draw the attention
of the President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama
and the newly appointed Minister of Youth
and Sports, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed of this
unfortunate aberration and to call for the
immediate reconstitution of the Governing
Board.
----Signed------
Ben Kwaku Asare
National Coordinator

can fool Ghanaians with its usual diversionary tactics.

How Europe
Succeeded to Make Africans Happy about their
Colonization
Review, March 17, Ghanadot - The
British government spends every year 600 millions euros
on BBC World Service (the international propaganda
branch of the BBC). And, every week, that World Service
reaches 96 millions people in Africa, the biggest
audience for the channel......More

Let’s not fool ourselves. We
may not bribe, but corruption is rife in Britain
Guardian, March 20, Ghanadot - It just doesn’t
compute. Almost every day the news is filled with
stories that look to me like corruption. Yet on
Transparency International’s corruption index Britain is
ranked 14th out of 177 nations, suggesting that it’s one
of the best-run nations on Earth. Either all but 13
countries are spectacularly corrupt or there’s something
wrong with the index......More |

KUMASI HOOTS AT NDC'S MARCH FOR
MAHAMA
Commentary, March 20, Ghanadot -
To their dismay, they were met with loud boos and
hooting by residents of the City. The booing got intense
at the Central business area and the March had to brace
the hostile reaction from the traders and by-standers to
continue....Many of the residents expressed their
disgust with the 'thank you' March, and wondered how in
the face of the current excruciating economic hardships
and the monstrous power crisis anybody will resort to
such needless praise singing...... .More
