A4P CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS IN ACCRA

PRESS STATEMENT ON CAMPAIGN TO CREATE DISAFFECTION AGAINST ALAN JOHN KWADWO KYEREMATEN IN THE THREE NORTHERN REGIONS.

TUESDAY, SEPT 30, 2014

The Alan Kyerematen For President Campaign Team has been touring the three Northern Regions over the last week. The tour has received enthusiastic reception and support from the NPP delegates, members and supporters across the regions and also from thousands of citizens of our dear nation.

During the tour it came to the attention of the team that Mr. Anim Anta, a former Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Mr RazakAwudulai, a former DCE all during the Kufuor Administration and others have embarked on a vicious campaign to create disaffection in the three Northern Regions against Alan Kyerematen.

The message being peddled by these persons is to the effect that President John Agyekum Kufuor has now tasked them to campaign for Nana Akufo Addo against Alan Kyerematen because he President Kufuor is no longer on talking terms with Alan. The message further says that the party Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko is also not on talking terms with Alan, and has even indicated that Northern delegates should vote for Nana Addo because it is only when Nana Addo is the party’s candidate that Dr. Bawumia, a son of the North can become Vice President.

The Alan for President Campaign has checked with both President Kufuor and Chairman Afoko who have both distanced themselves from this vicious campaign to create disaffection against Alan, and have also strongly condemned the development as negative, divisive and inimical to party unity.

We are therefore by this statement condemning those acts of negativity and divisiveness on the part of all those who are part of such cruel campaigns.

We further call on Messrs Anim Anta, Razak Awudulai and all others mentioned as being associated with this vicious campaign to come out publicly to deny these rumours or to apologise to the entire party for engaging in acts that clearly portend danger, confusion and divisiveness within our dear party.

We of the Alan For President Campaign team continues to stand by our resolve to conduct a clean campaign, and hereby call on all others to do same in order to preserve the unity and peace of the party for victory in 2016.

Signed
