AKUFO ADDO CAMP
DIVIDES NPP WITH LIES AND PRETENDS
We, the NPP Youth for 2016, have come across an
EBOLA statement issued by crusaders for change,
titled; “moves to disrupt NPP Aug 31 leadership
contest uncovered”. This statement from such a weird
and contradicting pressure group, crusaders for
change, who are ironically campaigning against
change in the flag bearer position of NPP, is openly
divisive and highly irresponsible. If the body of
NPP today was totally poisoned, part of the autopsy
must read Hopeson Adoye, Tina Mensa, Sylvester
Tetteh, etc., who would rather go all out with lies
and pretentious claims, instead of all the good
things they could say about their preferred
candidate.
First and foremost, their claim that certain few
influential people in NPP hate Akufo Addo and would
rather wish NPP to stay in opposition if Nana is
flag bearer is a very dangerous calculated malice.
This is a divisive picture of who they really are.
It is unacceptable and unimaginable to hear this
from crusaders of “no nana no vote” which simply
means that NPP must lose 2016 at all cost if Akufo
Addo is not our presidential candidate. Some of us
have had hot debate on this defeatist slogan with
many elderly ones in Nana Addo’s campaign team like
Dr Amoako Tufour who should know better. In a
telephone interview on kyss FM, Takoradi based radio
station, Hon. Titus Glover, another campaigner for
Nana, also said to the ears of the world that, “if
it is not nana then we should forget it, ‘ebeko goal
die, enko corner’”.
Again, our friends in Akufo Addo camp will always
couple lies with insults on all of us and on our
intelligence. They claim some people hide money and
only show up when there is internal contest, I hope
they could be bold enough to mention name(s). In the
run up to 1998 NPP presidential congress, Akufo Addo
is on record to have told delegates to vote for him
to avoid the sort of cashless campaign of 1992 and
1996, because he (Akufo Addo) had money enough to
match the NDC and Rawlings the crucial election of
the year 2000. Nana lost the primaries, and what did
we see? Election 2000 campaign was even more
miserable than the previous ones, where was Akufo
Addo’s money hiding???
So quite clearly, Hopeson and his friends either do
not know or they have forgotten their own past, or
they are only hoping that we will forget all we know
about them. But that isn’t going to happen.
Their EBOLA statement further exposes their mischief
to always draw Alan Kyerematen and Nana Ohene Ntow
into their messy and muddy games. I can well imagine
their inability to understand Ohene Ntow for saying,
“Akufo Addo must step down for Alan Kyerematen”.
Ohene Ntow simply meant that Alan Kyerematen is in
better positioned to win 2016, and Alan could have
easily won the two previous elections Akufo Addo
lost in 2008 & 2012. Ohene Ntow only amplified the
common wisdom that, if a man is sick, he does not
fall on a mechanic for medication, meaning that
Ghana needs an expert who understands our economic
difficulties and can give right and accurate
prescription and solution. In any case, Alan himself
has previously stepped down for others and Akufo
Addo. Why can’t Nana do same???
What is sad and bad enough is that, Hopeson Adoye
and Tina Mensa who recently contested for national
positions and lost, plus Sylvester Tetteh who was
NPP 2012 Parliamentary candidate for Ningo-Prampram,
failed to avoid pettiness and lies which has got no
legs to stand on. They have chosen to elevate their
personal interest over that of the majority who long
for power and victory in 2016.
We wish to make a strong call on Akufo Addo to
restrain his people from their usual divisive
mischief against our own NPP elders who have done
enough in life long before some of us were born. The
expectation of party people and Ghanaians are high
and huge, and it demands that Akufo Addo’s camp
tells their message for party and country as Alan
Kyerematen has always done. They should and must
focus on issue-based campaign rather than smearing
and staining others.
With God and the truth on our side, NPP will be
delivered, after all, we are many and they are few.
