NPP CONGRATULATES BLACK
STARS
The New Patriotic Party congratulates the senior
national team, Black Stars and the technical team
particularly the coach Mr. Kwesi Appiah for their
outstanding performance, sportsmanship and successes
which have qualified Ghana to a 3rd consecutive World
Cup final in Brazil come 2014.
The Black Stars have once again shown that with
determination and a will to die for Ghana, success shall
always prevail.
We say ayekoo to our gallant players and the many
Ghanaians who have supported the team through thick and
thin.
Football has always united us as a nation, and this is
no exception.
Whilst savouring this triumph by the Black Stars, the
NPP would also like to use this opportunity to express
our reservation on the petty politics exhibited by the
Mahama government in the Black Stars qualification in
Egypt.
The wearing of T- shirts with the President's picture
embossed on at the Cairo Military Stadium instead of a
T-shirt with the national colours does not promote
national unity and cohesion as many would like matches
of the Black Stars to do.
The national team is the pride of the nation, and not
for any individual or political party and we urge the
government to ensure that such an unfortunate incident
does not happen again either through direct or indirect
sponsorship.
Ghana has made history again and we must all savour as
proud citizens. The Black Stars (National Team) is the
pride of the nation, and at this difficult time in our
country's history, they remain our only Hope.
