Welcome,
President Trump

The US Congress completed yesterday the
certification of Donald J. Trump as the next president
of America.
Still, grieving Democrats, Hillary, and minds of
the “Never Trumpers,” like Senators McCain and Lindsey
Graham, are yet to accommodate the news - with ease.
There is a probe pending in the Senate on the
matter of Russia’s influence in the 2016 election, with
McCain as the chair.
But will the result ease these minds against
Trump, if it turned out not to be true?
This cabal of politicians believes that Trump is
unfit for the presidency.
And, thinks that his tenure will damage their
ideal of America.
Try as hard as this group might, it will be hard
for them to debunk the idea that Trump’s “Make America
Great Again” is now the overriding theme that will drive
America’s politics; at least, for the next four years to
come.
But trust the anti-Trumpers not to give up.
For as long as they are in Congress, or any of
the branches of the government, they are certain to
cause enough turbulence to make Trump's presidency
shaky. And
they will be happy while doing so.
They will point to flaws everywhere in his
administration.
And when there is none, they will create some,
then condemn Trump and the “deplorable” electorate that
elected him.
Senators John McCain and Lindsay Graham may easily
qualify for a leadership position with this anti-Trump
group.
McCain is perfectly suited for the job.
Opposing Trump, though a member of his Republican
party, will not bother him one bit.
He hates him already.
Additionally, McCain has always preferred his own
foreign policy goals above that of any sitting
president.
Ask George W. Bush.
Considering what Democrats have been up to since
Trump's victory, the behavior of McCain and Graham must
be mystifying.
But McCain's dedication to probing into the
Russian affair gives Democrats a handle to their fervent
wish: To
remove Trump from power, by all means, necessary or to
de-legitimize him.
So, why are Senator McCain and Graham trying to
help the Democrat agenda?
There is no surprise here.
They failed to support Trump throughout the 2016
campaign.
And now the disguised attempt to implement the mission
they had failed to accomplish during the primaries.
As of now, heads of five US intelligence agencies
have testified in front of McCain's commission.
Their conclusions have so far not matched the
wished-for Russian Collusion charge, which makes the
investigation more of political intrigue than found
facts at this stage.
Considering that Russians and Americans do always
meddle in everything each other does, the intensity of
this probe makes it hilarious, while at the same time
exposing the hatred the permanent political class has
for outsiders like Trump.
The name Russia is red meat in American politics.
Therefore, it can draw both Democrats and hawks
like Senators McCain and Graham into a common cause.
This time the cause is against Trump, the
Republican outsider.
Still, no charge with the Russian excuse has ever
been pursued this harder than this one against Trump.
A suspicion of cyber-attack of this kind on
American elections could have been done by other nations
too.
A cursory glance at the website of Cyber-security
Law & Policy will show the number of times the US
Federal System has been attacked recently.
August 2006 – Representative Wolf and Foreign
Affairs Committee offices – the computers at his office,
several unnamed Representatives’ hacked.
March 2009 – Senator Nelson confirmed that his
personal office computers had been subject to three
separate attacks.
June 2011 – The U.S. Senate’s website was hacked
and files from the website were posted online.
December 2011 – Iran claims to have gained
possession of an RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone with a
cyber-attack.
February 2012 – Department of Defense: F-35
development – cyber-attacks that stole classified
information discussing the high-cost technology
reported. And more.
None of these cyber incursions elicited any strong
demands for investigations on Russia, so why only on the
result of this election?
The answer must be an indication of the size of
pain Trump's 2016 victory has set off in the hearts and
minds of Democrats and all within the anti-Trump
political class:
A prestige-shattering experience that has
leapfrogged a complete political novice like Trump into
the office above them.
Particularly to Senator McCain is probably a
sorrow from his failed presidential attempt in 2008, And
for Hillary, it has to be the reflect from a spurned
suitor, in this case, her being the loser of the 2016
election.
Hillary has called for a recount in three key
Democrat states in the attempt to halt the electoral
college and its processes to confirm Trump.
She failed in all her attempts, losing three of
her electors to Trump.
But the attempt to derail Trump’s presidency
continues on all fronts.
The Democrats dislike Trump and his “deplorable”
supporters. And the two Republican senators seem to be
driven by the outgrowth of some personal peeve. The
Russian involvement charge, true or not, may have given
this group the perfect excuse to get back at Trump.
Sadly, President Obama, the outgoing leader, and
de facto peacemaker has not helped.
But no surprise here.
He was the one who made the supposed Russian
involvement newsworthy.
Obama, regretfully, has also brought on his head a
crisis of confidence in the US intelligence services and
therefore on his legacy.
The Russian interference happened on his watch
and he didn’t stop them.
It ought to be seen that, until this point, Obama
has done enough for the Democrat party, but not for the
entire nation.
He backed Hillary to the hilt, campaigning more
vigorously on her behalf than she did for herself.
It could have been better for Obama’s legacy if he
had concentrated on a smooth transition between Trump
and him.
But, as always, Hillary has maneuvered Obama into a
position to do the dirty work for her.
Even though Hillary lost this time, Obama is
providing a bridge, perhaps, for her successful return
to the presidential office in 2020, which post she
thinks rightfully belongs to her.
The last time there was such a thought it was by
Al Gore, against George Bush, after the 2000 election.
The dragged on Florida ballot "chad" counting left Bush
vulnerable to attacks, including those from our very own
McCain. This
time it is against Trump and the fear is from the
possibility that he might succeed!
Trump may end up doing what hardened political
pros, the McCain’s, the Clintons, and the Obamas
promised but never did.
