AKUFO-ADDO JOINS PRESIDENT OBAMA IN WASHINGTON FOR NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will on Monday, 30th January 2012, depart from Accra to the United States (US) to honour an invitation by the United States Congressional Committee.

Nana Akufo-Addo, the leader of Ghana’s main opposition party, has been invited to join the President of the United States, Barack Obama, Members of the U.S. Congress, and other leaders across the world for the 60th National Prayer Breakfast of the United States.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday, 2nd February, at the Washington Hilton, Washington, D.C.

Annually, Members of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. President and U.S. government officials join with others, including friends of the Unites States, to share in the spirit of friendship through prayer and thanksgiving.

The National Payer Breakfast also offers the opportunity to set aside differences and seek to build and strengthen relationships through the love of God and care for one another.

Nana Akufo-Addo’s departure to the U.S. comes on the heels of Sunday’s interdenominational prayer session held by the NPP at the Essipong Stadium in the Western Region. Christian leaders joined party leaders, thousands of members and sympathisers across the country to pray for peaceful presidential and parliamentary elections this year.
