According to George Soros,
global leaders are mining the wrong places for
climate cash

Holding court before the TV cameras,
Mr Soros bluntly pointed out that neither developed
nor developing countries can stretch their balance
sheets much further at the moment.
“But this $10bn fund is more than nothing but not
much more because of the magnitude of the problem,”
he declared. “It’s not sufficient and it’s already
becoming apparent that there’s a gap between the
developed and developing worlds on this issue that
could actually wreck the conference.”
Global leaders are looking in the wrong places, he
explained. The world needs new money and this can be
found in current rainy day reserves. Developed
countries should give up their special drawing
rights (international reserve assets) handed out by
the International Monetary Fund as loans for
developing countries in a $100bn fund. Poor
countries pay interest and eventually the whole
loan, but in the event of a default, the loans are
backed by the IMF’s gold reserves.....
