"2016 NOT A TIME FOR EXPERIMENTS" - DR. BAWUMIA

The 2012 vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has explained to the delegates of the Party that 2016 is not the time to experiment with a new candidate as the consequences for such an action will be dire.

Addressing NPP delegates at the Assembly Hall of the Bolgatanga Secondary Technical School, Dr. Bawumia stressed that the NPP is on course to win the 2016 election with Nana Akufo-Addo as the presidential candidate of the Party.

"2016 is not the time for experiments. We want to present a candidate who will win 2016. When we look at 2012, we know Nana Akufo-Addo won the election, because you and I were there. After all the evidence presented, we know we won the 2012 election. There is no more popular person in the NPP and in Ghana than Nana Akufo-Addo," Dr. Bawumia said.

He continued, "A government under Nana Akufo-Addo will solve the problems created by John Mahama's government and restore Ghana onto the path of prosperity and progress."

Touching on the incompetence of John Mahama, Dr. Bawumia indicated that the ruling National Democratic Congress has so far proven itself to be a government that "creates problems, instead of solving problems."

According to Dr. Bawumia, the NDC has always found money for schemes such as SADA, SUBAH and GYEEDA. However, when it comes to finding money for teachers to buy chalk, teachers and nurses allowances, paying of contractors, the GETFund, District Assemblies Common Fund, the government retorts by saying "there is no money."

He revealed that interest payments on Ghana's debt in 2014 alone is four times Ghana's oil revenue, adding that "they have destroyed Ghana's oil."

Dr. Bawumia asked the delegates gathered, "Is this a government you want to retain in power?", to which the response was a loud, resounding "no."
