Press Release
Nana Akufo-Addo
July 31, 2014
I WILL DELIVER VICTORY IN 2016,
AKUFO-ADDO ASSURES DELEGATES
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured delegates of the New
Patriotic Party that nothing short of victory will be the
portion of the Party in the 2016 elections when he is elected
presidential candidate at the October 18 presidential primary.
Addressing a packed hall of delegates from the Upper East region
at the Bolgatanga Secondary Technical School on Wednesday,
Akufo-Addo told delegates that proceedings from the presidential
election petition had showed that the battle for victory in 2016
must be won at the polling station.
"Give me another chance, elect me again. The action before the
Supreme Court showed one thing. They told us that the battle for
winning elections is at the polling station. That is where our
energies, resources and strategies will go. If we learn our
lesson and block the loopholes identified, I am confident that
the Almighty God and the people of Ghana will listen to our plea
and a declaration will be made in December 2016 that the NPP's
presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has won the election
and is the President-Elect of Ghana," Nana Addo stressed to the
delight of the delegates.
On propaganda being embarked on by some persons, both within and
outside of the NPP that he was old and not fit, Nana Akufo-Addo
responded by saying "I am being told that I am too old to be
President", to which the delegates retorted, "No, we disagree".
He recounted how "one man, two years older than me in Cote
d'Ivoire" is putting to shame the work of the "so-called young
man here in Ghana", a reference to the stunning developmental
record chalked by 72-year old President Alassane Ouattara in
war-ravaged Cote d'Ivoire in some 2½ years.
"Give me the chance to do the same for Ghana and bring Ghana
back onto the path of prosperity and a good life for all
citizens. If I wasn't fit and ready for the task ahead, I
wouldn't be putting myself up for the task," Nana Addo
reiterated.
On the abysmal performance of President Mahama and his NDC
government, Nana Addo stressed that the "Better Ghana agenda has
collapsed and lies in ruins."
He explained that Ghanaians are saddled with high fuel prices,
utility tariff hikes and a general high increase in the cost of
living.
"Everything is so high, and yet our pockets are so low," Nana
Addo stated.
Akufo-Addo noted that all the gains made in the 8 year period of
the NPP under the leadership of President J.A Kufuor have all
been whittled down under President Mahama and his NDC
government. He explained that, for example, the whole of 2014 is
yet to see any payments being made into the GETFund, National
Health Insurance Scheme or the District Assemblies Common Fund
for the Upper East Region. He appealed to the President to
rectify this situation immediately so that social services in
the Upper East Region can be delivered.
"I am in politics to bring this country forward, not for
personal gain. The world knows Ghana's potential, and I am
saying that, together, we can make the Black Star shine again,"
Akufo-Addo added.
Nana Akufo-Addo challenged the Mahama administration to fulfill
its promise of constructing a modernised market for the people
of Bolgatanga, adding that "I went to see the Bolgatanga market
and it was distressing."

WOYOME’s FRAUD; PROSECUTE CONSPIRATORS
Commentary, July 31, Ghanadot - In matters of
this nature, it is impossible for a lone outsider like
Mr. Woyome to be able to act alone and succeed without
‘support’ and or failure and negligence on the part of
public officers. It is therefore time for Woyome to name
the collaborators and benefactors, and or the gang who
helped him to defraud the nation the GHC58, 000,000.00
as he has often threatened to do.. .....More
