Who takes over CPP Chairmanship Position?

Today marks another memorable day in the history of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) as national executives will be elected at its on-going congress at the International Trade Fair Center in Accra.

Over 2,000 delegates have arrived from the ten regions of the country to participate in the congress, in all 20 candidates are vying for the various positions within the party.

Ladi Nylander, the Incumbent Chairman, former Chairman Edmund Delle, Jomoro MP, Samia Nkrumah and Araba Bentsi-Entsil have all eyed the chairmanship slot and will contest for the key position.

In an iterview on Citi Fm, the General Secretary of the CPP, Ivor Greenstreet revealed that all is set for the contest, adding that the CPP is ready to elect credible and strong leaders to steer the affairs of the party.


The General Secretary position of the CPP is being hotly contested by Ivor Greenstreet, Nii Armah Akomfrah and Ekow Duncan and the position of National Treasurer is a straight fight between Kosi Dede and Seth Gomnah.

Evelyn Alamisi Anabilla, Appiah Amankwah and Abu Forgor are slugging it out for national organizer, while Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim-Haruna, Mary Ankumah Boakye-Boateng and Aisha Suley Futa will battle for the national women’s organizer position.

The National Youth Organizer position will be vied for by Murtala Mohammed, Francis Opai Tetteh and Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf.
