Audrey Agyiri-Inkoom

October 11, 2011

Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo-Addo, has stated that biometric registration which will be implemented for the 2012 General Elections will help enhance the county’s democracy.

According to him, it will eliminate multiple registrations and reduce electoral fraud, thus promoting good governance and improve the electoral system.

In an interview with Ghanadot, the presidential hopeful of the NPP revealed that Ghana's democratic governance is idiosyncratic and unique thus the introduction of biometric registration will be advantageous.

Nana Akuffo-Addo, reiterated that need for Ghanaians to trust the electoral system of the country, adding that is the only way for the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct free and fair election come 2012.
