It has come to
the notice of the party headquarters that various
associations and fan clubs purporting to support our
presidential or parliamentary candidate have emerged.
These groups are formed by party members or sympathizers
with the intent of working for the candidate in the 2012
elections.
The party is
pleased by people’s desire to help our candidates win
the next general elections. However, it is for the
purpose of working for the success of the NPP’s
candidates in the next general elections that parties
officers (national to polling station) have been
elected, and other party structures set up at all
levels. All party activities towards our success in the
2012 elections should be conducted by these elected
representatives of the Party. Any persons who desire to
see the New Patriotic Party win the next presidential
and parliamentary elections should therefore work under
the elected officers (national to polling station) of
the Party.
Accordingly, all
candidates and party members should note that the Party
does not and shall not recognize any such associations
or fan clubs seeking to exist outside the party
structures.
